Well he made the day about him and not peyton by his pre-planned stunt.

It plays well to his base but it was a frick you to peyton and the colts. And the fans.

It's not really a gotcha considering he was wearing a suit yesterday.

One man's "stunt" is another man's counter protest.

What's the matter?

Can't you handle VP Pence having the balls to confront the protesters by walking out on them?

Just out of curiosity, could I get a show of hands on this thread of people who are currently applauding Pence for his activism yet reviled the cast of Hamilton for having the audacity to directly address him after a performance?

Meh, the cast of Hamilton weren't "addressing" Pence after their performance.

They were harassing Pence.

The cast of Hamilton has no class, the players who were kneeling in front of Pence have no class and you have no class.

Can you explain in less than infinite words how the two events share equivalence? (You can't)

Pence blew through taxpayer dollars to make a football game all about him and then whine on social media. The cast of Hamilton politely addressed a public figure after a performance.

Takes an absolutely incredible level of cognitive dissonance to applaud the former and revile the latter. I have to say, I'm impressed

Are you somehow under the illusion that Pence would not have attended the game (at the least the honoring of Manning part) even if the whole anthem thing wasn't an issue?

That's the point of the old picture. He was, is and continues to be a Colts fan. He was governor of the state for goodness sake's Of course he is going to make an appearance.

No one, literally no one, is saying that standing for the national anthem is a PR stunt. People are saying that Pence going to a game in which he knew players would kneel with the intention of leaving once said kneeling occurred is a PR stunt.

You're welcome to try to convince everyone that Pence went in utterly ignorant and clutched his pearls in genuine shock, but I think you're going to have a hard time.

Why is it a 'stunt?' - Why is it not just a manifestation of his principles. That is far far more believable than the real stunts the players are participating in by using this venue to protest 'police brutality against black people.'

THAT is the 'stunt' in all of this - a deplorable stunt aimed at a target that in no way has anything to do with their proclaimed 'grievance.'

Pence goes to a game played in the state he was recently the governor of - to witness a game that honors one of the all time greats to play in that state - and the idiot players - in addition to the complicit owners - decide to engage in a fukcing STUNT to dishonor our nation. So he walks out of a display of such a disgusting demonstration of bullshite.

I deem that to be an honorable thing to do -

Could it be that he was HOPING that rationality and honor would prevail??? and that he could enjoy the experience???

nahhh - had to be an evil conservative 'stunt.'

The Vice president of the United States expressing displeasure with a misdirected and mistimed protest against the flag and the anthem makes a ton of sense. He didn't go to an event whose purpose was to protest.

The cast of Hamilton again offered a mistimed and misguided criticism of a public figure when he was simply consuming the product.

It's amazing to me that you don't see this.
