Are we going to acknowledge food shortages yet?

Everywhere I go, I notice a common theme. Shelves empty at grocery stores, restaurants on a limited menu. Is this “progressive”? We warned you leftists fricks that this would happen. We warned the likes of Mickey Goldmill. Is this what you want in this country? Soviet-esque shortages in every sector?

My wife took a picture of the frozen food aisle the other day at Walmart and it was almost empty

To be fair, this is not that bad a thing for a country as obese as we are.
We provide free carts for fat people to drive through the store and buy more food (many of them with my money).
ETA: But I see your point.

I went to Costco today on Airline and besides not having my tuna steaks till Friday's truck shipment comes in, there were stacked shelves and produce everywhere. Maybe Costco's an outlier because it's been months since I've been in an actual grocery store.

Maybe Bill Gates will help us out with his wealth in farmland. Or maybe he will give every home a 3-D faux meat printer.
Or maybe he can go frick himself to death.

Is this a regional thing due to the Hurricane?
Or is it a Covid Lockdown / Government sponsored unemployment program issue?
Or a rising cost of business issue (inflation on gas, taxes, regulations, vax mandates, etc)?
Or a combination?

Same here but the WM in question had just lost power for several days and had to toss everything as a result.

Local grocery stores, target, Walmart, every restaurant I’ve been to the last 2-3 weeks. It’s becoming more common.

I'll give it another week or two before I pass judgement, because I'm in SE Louisiana and the hurricane shite going on.

It’s because of massive labor shortages not actual food shortages.
Labor shortages due to welfare and Covid restrictions are destroying supply chain lines And it’s hurting every sector. Food shortages. Raw material shortages. Shipping issues. Inflation. Raw goods costs, etc
All tied back to artificially created labor shortages because our government is forcing people to stay home and paying those who won’t be forced.
We desperately need to end the bullshite surrounding Covid and get people back to work. We’re dangerously close to irreparable damages

Main reason why I am not pushing too hard on this front too.
Logistics are all screwed up in south LA.
Places which are normally stocked like Rouses are picked over.
Places which are normally a little bare like the local Winn Dixie and Walmart? Look like there have been riots there.

It certainly is communist.
My soon to be Russian father in law has mentioned the bread lines in Soviet Russia.
It’s difficult running a state economy.
You just have to accept things like food shortages.

If only I had listened, things would be so different now.

Who buys food at Wal Mart?
Publix shortages ebb and flow. One week a particular item doesn't ship in and the next week something else. Our Distribution Warehouse location is off of I-10 outside of Jacksonville. That's a one day trip and the trucks are in at least twice a day. Local distributors have the greatest problems. Pepsi has can shortages ....
Another problem I can't quite grasp ....trucker shortage.
Where in the hell did the truckers go during the lockdown? They weren't locked down ....what happened?

Kroger is definitely thinner than usual. And it’s been that way for the last few visits .
