Pretty much states it in the subject, but are there any real reasons that a company would be discouraged from employing illegals?

For starters, a heavy fine that would continue until the individual is unemployed

Absolutely none. This is why 15-30,000,000 are here, and employed. It has been against the law for a long time but it has not been seriously enforced. R and D administrations have garnered the benefits for them selves and their friends, to the detriment of the American people.

Almost none. Reminds me of the early pollution laws and fines. Fines were so small that it was cheaper for companies to pay the fines and continue polluting.

Once they reverse the relatively cheap cost of getting caught hiring/using illegals then it will come to screeching halt.

I would like to see a whistleblower reward system..... you turn in someone paying illegals, they get fined ten grand a head.... one grand a head goes to whistleblower.

Probably not enough. That is the other half of the equation, we need to crack down on illegals sneaking across our border but we also need to crack down on the businesses and people using their cheap labor. They are cheating American citizens and causing harm to the republic and that should come with a hefty penalty.

Under 26 U.S. Code §?7213, tax fraud should be taken very seriously.

Unfortunately, Jamal from Somalia can buy your social security number on the black market, and get a job at the meat packing company.

Then, the IRS forces their employees to give Jamal a refund by issuing him W2s from your tax record.

The scheme creates jobs for the IRS workers and Jamal from Somalia.

You can get more brides, per dollar, in India than in the USA. This is due to the strong dollar.

Never enforced. And even if it were, most illegals have fake identification which allows them to pass E-verify.

Not enough, apparently. The practice still goes on quite often even though businesses can be fined. Were the penalties steep enough it would stop (and would be a major blow to illegal immigration).

If there were any significant repercussions it would end illegal immigration faster than a million walls.
