salt water freezes at just about -2 C. Thats NEGATIVE.
How can the water be warming, and then cool enough to go below zero to allow sea ice formation.

BTW - Didn't you just say that if more ice is forming, it MUST be because the water is cooling?
Yet here you're suggesting salinity may play a factor.

salt water, hence sea ice, freezes at below zero.
The water around Antarctica, where SEA ice forms...is saltwater.
Sea ice has been growing, which means water must be COOLER.
