Dude it’s been almost a year and you are still whining about the rules.

Move on.

FWIW, it's economic nationalism. Something that appeals to working class Americans on issues like trade and immigration. This is how Trump won the Rust Belt. These are the forgotten working men and women.

The ole GOP run by the GOPe had this group of voters twice under Reagan's two election victories for president. Other than that the GOPe has never had these voters.

These voters typically voted Democrat. There was a time that Democrats actually cared about these forgotten men and women via union support, immigration policy, tax policy and trade policy.

No more. The Democrats have abandon these voters and replaced them with SJWs via identity politics.

As Trump is rebuilding the Republican party on economic nationalism based on specific policies like immigration and trade the old guard "globalists" GOP establishment are fighting backs joined by the Democrats.

Generally speaking there are three factions:

1. Economic nationalist who want controlled boarders and fair trade policies.

2. GOPe who want open borders and multinational trade accords...just because their corporate lobbyists pay them to support those positions (for cheap labor and corporate protections in trade).

3. Democrats who want open border (to get more future voters) and multinational trade accords (to implement Marxism by abdicating U.S. sovereignty to these commissions within these multinational trade deals).

2. and 3. are fighting 1. Bush 43 falls into group 2.

Toddy, you apparently don't understand that Trump's campaign strategy was to win the electoral college, not the popular vote. Clinton's popular vote margin was mainly from 2 states, California and New York. Any objective person, Democrat or Republican, would have to agree that Trump's way was the correct way to win the election.

Oooo so he lost the popular vote

That's right. Lost by the most in history I believe. he would even lose by a much greater number today. But go on with the delusion that "the people" want him.

He won by a method that he even tweet bitched about earlier.

1. War in Iraq

2. Patriot Act

3. Pre-emptive war

4. Nation Building

5. Ramped up NSA and spying programs

George W. Bush and his neocon administration have no room to lecture anyone, unless it's about war crimes and for-profit war.

That you bought into that nonsense is the problem right there.

Yes, chumming up to places like Russia and Saudi over Europe is stupid.

The Patriot Act defines GWB more than any other of his disasters. I will never under how so many red blooded Americans were OK with letting the Fed stomp on their civil rights.

Look Trump is a brash yankee and should keep his mouth shut BUT I support his tax cut and I support his nod toward Paul's healthcare plan. I wish there was a Trump tax cut plan and a Trump healthcare plan that he could get on the stump and promote. That would be true leadership.

I do wish he would quit rattling the sword. He is simply following the neocon lead when he does that.

The neocons need to make their case. They are wrong on the Middle East but Trump is doing what they want. They are wrong on the UN and NATO but Trump is doing what they want there. So I believe Trump and Bush and Graham and McCain are wrong in these areas. They all talk vaguely about American security and goodness as justifications for our continued meddling and waring but to win me to this thinking they are going to have to convince me with facts.

The only big area policy wise that the neocons and Trump disagree on is immigration. NEITHER is talking about the real solution and that solution is to end welfare and SS for non citizens and to limit work visas to those that can prove they will have a job and health insurance while they are here. We should not limit immigration to those that will pay their own way in our society--if they work and buy their own needs including health insurance we should welcome those economy growers to our society.

So, you admit that Democrats have won 5 of the last 7 popular votes...yet STILL found a way to lose 2 of those elections.

Any party that incompetent deserves to be in the minority.

What's he doing to hurt ties with Europe? Tsipras seemed fine with him this week. It's almost as if he's become a mentor to Macron. The Eastern Europeans like him. Poland loves him. The pro-Brexit Brits like him (which, if you don't remember, won a majority vote).

Do I need to go on (I can)?

He should be. You should smile for the prospects for your family that he's trying to bring jobs lost to China and other places back home to Main Street America. You should be tickled pink he wants to make sure trade deals are designed to benefit America and not just be a win for corparate actors with interests abroad. Your forefathers who fought in the world wars would be proud of you for appreciating Trump's message that this American experiment of ours is a force for good in the world and something that should be cherished and honored. It's only a subset because you've chosen to view it as a subset, but his policies, if successful, will be beneficial to all.

To be fair, his base are the only ones that love America. Everyone else is more than willing to let our country turn into sweden if it protects them from being called a racist.
