He's the French ambassador to the United States. And if you know your history, the British and French did very little to curb the spread of fascism during the 30s.

A portion of France refused to side with the UK as well.

Can we get France And the U.K. to help us stop illegal aliens?
They kind of owe us.

Someone should respond in German, “If that were true, you’d be able to read this reply without need of a translation.”

I think the ambassador's tweet is historically accurate. Weren't we sending shiploads of supplies to the allies even before we officially entered the war?

Yeah. Its probably accurate, but it isn't what we should all remember on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

And we should remember that FRANCE refused to side with the UK and stand up to the Nazi's when they rolled through their countryside.

A large chunk of Hitler's success was the complicity of the French countryman.

He can go frick himself.

Paris looks safer under German control than it does today is the most ironic part of his tweet.

While we played a huge role in WWII, I find Americans tend to overblow this as it pertains to WWI. The French and British had been fighting and dying for years before we showed up with a green fighting force and helped push things over the edge. To downplay French and British effort during WWI is a historical absurdity.

This attitude is why we should tell Europe to go frick themselves. Seriously, after WWII, the Marshall Plan and our continuous funding of their defenses via NATO, they still hate our guts. Stop subsidizing the welfare states of Western Europe, let them defend themselves and save the American taxpayers a few billion every year.
