Any idea why St. George decision is taking so long?

The LA Supreme Court needs to issue a ruling so we can all move forward.

Someone is likely writing a big arse dissent - probably Hughes (which, if true, means StG wins)

If/when St George wins, I want to know what happens next.

The incorporation being retroactive to the election several years ago means that BR owes St George a shite ton of revenue they can’t cough up.

Did BR have to put that money in escrow?

Should have. I’m sure they didn’t because they thought they would win the case.

Plus, a bunch of annexations will have to be unwound (which will also impact tax revenues)

True, but I think SWB should be more scared of having years worth of $50m or more of St George revenue end up in the parish general fund that have to be made whole.

BRPD and BRFD are already ailing. Taking that money out of the general fund means either BR pays for their own shite or they dissolve the departments.

Do they release opinions on unschedule days? The next opinion release is scheduled for May 10th according to their website.

The do on occasion. Especially ones that went past the next scheduled one.

Other cases argued that same day had their opinions issued on the scheduled date, so this one certainly could be released before 5/10.
