Yeah he didn't actually do anything like run some of the most famous kitchens in the country or write one of the most notable commentaries on the culinary industry before the media made him famous.

He really wasn't all that notably accomplished a chef (I think even he admits this). His book hipsterly exposing the New York culinary world was his big coup. Without that, he's basically just one of several hundred other types there, that nobody ever knows of.

He seems to have become progressively more insufferable every year since that came out.

He did kinda abandon his young wife and kid to do a TV show, not sure badass is the right word for him.

I think the opposite. Responding to Bourdain's comments would be a childish, hot headed move that only fuels the fire. What hurts Bourdain is people such as myself, who watch him, but don't want to hear all this political crap. To the point where I might tune him out.

Is responding to ESPN/Hill's slander of Him (Trump) "childish and hot headed", BG? Or effective...regardless? What Trump's Twitter does is to FOCUS the Viewership on the ISSUES that are in question, and force His Critics to defend their position.

It's true that Bourdain is small potatoes...but making an example of Him sends shockwaves through the whole ranks. One step at a time...door to door...sustained drive.

Of course he did . He has that same snarky, destructive, angry ,narcissistic POV the Left has perfected. If he was 20 he'd be in The Antifa mob .

Bourdain is a talented but anguished artist whose misery is rewarded by those who consume his product. There is no end to his misery. And he'll have to increase his misery to keep himself and his followers interested. Doing a show in post-Brexit London was a perfect example of this.

My guess is he'd be much happier slogging around in a kitchen where he could look out into the dining room and mock the very people keeping him employed.

I appreciate his modesty and recognize that he wasn't one of the world's top chefs, but was head or executive chef at a number of fairly celebrated establishments. There's no point in arguing that his "media career" wasn't a direct outgrowth of his professional accomplishments.

I had this discussion yesterday with Mrs Pimp - buying a retirement house in Ha Tien ( the family village) on the cheap, and spending 1/2 year there . Cheap Coastal living in warm weather with beautiful people.

That'll show 'em! Surprised not more people have said similar things.

SS: Did you mean that you would kill President Trump?
Anyone: Nope
SS: Alrighty then, sorry to bother you. Carry on.

Kathy Griffin says she's been "completely exonerated" in the Secret Service investigation of whether she posed a threat by posing for a photo holding a fake, blood-dripping decapitated head of President Trump. In a tweet she posted Friday afternoon, Griffin said she is no longer under "federal investigation." "The case is closed, I have been completely exonerated. Finally," she said.

Not one Conservative called for obama's assassination. Some (including me) called for a trial and possible execution. There is a HUGE difference. Murder vs. Justice. No surprise the liberals think assassination is OK - it fits with most of the other junk they believe.

It's my understanding his persona is just that and he's much different in real life.

Most reality shows are as such.

I was a big Bourdain fan. I've read his books, watched his shows for years...even suffered through his last year of hyper-leftist drivel.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back.

His now ex-wife, probably saved his life and certainly saved his health (getting him into BJJ).

His response was to abandon her and their daughter. He's a manic depressive. He arguably has about as cool of a career as a person could have, yet he's obviously miserable.

He and Olberrman are quite similar. Intelligent, native New Yorkers that are mentally ill and that have platforms to spew their disease to infect others.

Bourdain's ex, Ottavia, seems cool as she can be though.
