You don't think robbing a store and commuting battery in the process speaks to a person's character? You don't think that that's an indication of bad character?
If you don't, you're either just trying to win an argument or you're warped and unaware of that fact.
If it's not an indication of one's character, then there's no such thing as character.

Why should the officer have to lose his life do the person who chose to put both of them in this situation may become a productive citizen? The officer already is a productive citizen

Think I might have an idea why the cop didn't get shot:

Lucky for the cop. Thug had the drop on him, but was too stupid to take the safety off.

Wow. So we are back in this situation with the insurgents because the safety being engaged gave the cop enough time to pull or he'd have died there last night.
Unreal.
Unreal.

Here's some more indications of his character.

BERKELEY, MO (KTVI) – Court records show the man shot and killed in the December 23rd Berkeley Police shooting served jail time when he was 17.
Berkeley Police arrested him in May for armed criminal action, but that case is still under review at the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office. Antonio D Martin pleaded guilty twice, for lesser crimes. One plea involved a crime he committed just four days after his 17th birthday, a misdemeanor assault. The report says Martin and another person attacked someone in front of a Job Corp teacher.
Less than a month later, the 17 year the admitted he stole from a woman eating outside of Mariachi`s II restaurant on Gravois. Martin spent a total of 30 days in jail for both crimes.

Can't judge him.
Can't judge his character.
Can't judge his intent at the scene.
Must give him the benifit of any and all doubts.
Must do the opposite of all of this for the officer, though.

He was a good kid about to turn his life around. If he really meant that cop harm he would has disengaged the safety.

I think you summed up StrongSafety's argument quite nicely.

You're skewing whaT I said; I clearly stated that this kid has some major character issues due to his litany of arrests that we know about--can't say the same for MB.
And personally, with the way cops have been acting as of late, they have a lot of the benefit of the doubt in my eyes. From an outsiders perspective, their badge means doesn't shield them from being corrupt liars. Their history with black Americans supports that notion.

Of course, it's newsworthy because as is the norm, a couple of the "witnesses" at the scene had a fairy tale version of what happened before the video came out.
You mean like Sean Hannity's hero Witness #40?

That's because Michael was a juvenile until recently. He had some impressive stuff on his juvie record from the scuttlebutt about town.

Seems some of those good peaceful folks had them a shootout at a convenience store in St. Louis last night. 4 shot, with 1 dead.

So it was like most metro areas in the last 24 hours. Charleston, Birmingham, Atlanta, New Orleans, Jackson.
