The black community and/or the poli board has attacked these guys as "sell-outs" and "uncle tom's" ?

I must've missed that.

Also ... not sure if those guys came up as rough as a certain Supreme Court Justice did.

Nice try, though.

This is why we can't have amusing anecdotes.

Someone has to get his feels poked and call the OP to task.

JEEBUS.

It was just a STORY of what happened in a moment of a day.

My sig quote has seldom been more apropos.

Those old guys get it.

Ive always said there is a difference between ****s and a black MAN and a black WOMAN. I respect and love the latter, despise the former.

Ive discussed this with older black men and women and so far none have disagreed with me. They see and know the difference as well. Its an attitude that permeates the younger generations. Lot of whites and Mexicans have the same attitude. In fact, in some ways the word is doubling back to its original meaning. An ignorant person of any race.

Let the anger and shouts of racism begin.

So what's your point?

It's clear that most Blacks don't see most successful Blacks as 'sell outs' as implied then. Maybe they have an issue with certain peoples politics & not their success.

I will share with my Black friends how obssessed this wonderful place is with solving their perceived problems.

It was just an observation.

Now, we have:

N-bombs
Clarence Thomas
Eric Holder

It was just an anecdotal story. It blows my mind why this happens so often

You really won't have nice things if I started a thread for every insignificant observation (especially about race) that I made. I doubt mine would survive..

This isn't a random amusing thread /post about race here. The board is littered with them.

Where's the offense? I simply want to know what it has to do with politics? Nit the 1st time I've asked nor only race related topics that aren't political.

It's probably his most famous bit of all time.

If this was on the OT I would have gone a different direction. This is the politics board, a place for angry diatribes and hurt feelings. The OP opened it up for more than anecdotal discussion with his last sentence anyway. So lets see where the discussion takes us.

Middle to upper classed people do not care for lower classed people. Nothing to do with race. I wish more people would acknowledge that people more often than not are classist and not racist.

Hardly a reasonable comparison.

Very true, which is why I noted that I did not know if this was universal.

As for some of the reactions to my original post, this was probably the least racial post out there since the disdain for the attire and behavior of today's youth crosses all racial lines.

Oh, and as usual, BHP delivers.

Pretty much.

When I'm in New Orleans, I dislike blacks, when I go to my hometown in Mississippi, I find the whites I'm surrounded by disgusting.

Really, they just both represent stupid ignorant obese frick heads that make life a little less enjoyable when they are around me in any appreciable quantity. They remind me how close some of us are to the animal kingdom. I have a hard time understanding how the human mind can be so diseased. You'd think the floor of intelligence would be a bit higher for the human race.

Thankfully, I have the freedom to disassociate from them regularly.

I was in line at a local BR McDonald's and in front of me were two older black gentlemen. They were probably in their mid/late 50s and both were well dressed (dress shirts, ties, suit pants, dress shoes) and well groomed (fairly close cut hair).

While waiting in line, a car parked outside that they (and I) could see. Out popped three young urbanites (early 20s), each wearing wife beaters and drooping pants with underwear hanging out. As they walked toward the door, one of them actually pulled his shorts DOWN to show more of his underwear.

One of the men in front of me jogged the elbow of the other and nodded towards the parking lot saying "Look at these idiots." They both shook their heads in obvious disappointment.

I cannot say if this would have been a universal response, but it was telling.

Dude I don't get what's funny.

Shut the frick up, why does it matter if the two older gentleman were black as well as the younger gentleman being black.

This is a problem with youths of ALL races. This tread take the race out and its not a problem injecting race into it furthers the race issue in america.
