Many want to use "Usonian" instead of "American." Basis is American refers to all America, both North and South and not just the USA.
For example, the American Civil War should be the Usonian Civil War since it refers just to the civil war in the USA.

In 2010...it was done in the heat of the moment for safety reasons. Since then the kids that acted poorly were disciplined and kids can wear the american flag shirts. What's so difficult to understand.

Now, of course the Mexican students are wrong to threaten violence to anybody, but let's not act like these are just some innocent students who happen to have American flags on their shirts.
This story isn't so much about the flag itself, but more about racial tensions between those who self-identify as "Mexican" and those who self-identify as "true Americans".

It's about people using the flag to instigate tension.
They are basically saying you aren't American, and we are, so you all can go frick yourselves. They are aiming their "patriotism" at a certain group of people to piss them off.

Agreed. Thats their right. But we both know the people who make big deals out of something as harmless to them as Cinco de Mayo are usually racists.

I agree that they should not have banned them from wearing the American flag. Go back to my second post on the first page to see my thoughts on that.
