Am I the only one who sees the DACA as a bunch of fluff legislation?

I really think Obama did it simply to ensure the Hispanic vote and that it did nothing either positive or negative to affect their lives. I'm thinking repealing it does the same. No real effects on anyone's lives. I doubt seriously that Trump is going door to door to export these people.

All Obama and Trump have done is really nothing but in an appeal to please their constituencies that won't affect anyone's lives unless they're easily triggered in any meaningful way.

It would need to actually be legislation.

I sure hope so bro, I've been really worried. Most of us just want to be Americans and live normal lives

Irrespective of what you think about the legality of DACA, this is a misguided statement.

DACA gives a lot of opportunities to its recipients, SSN, driver's license, freedom from great of being deported etc. just to name a few.

So to say that scrapping of DACA will have no real effect on anyone's life is just wrong.

DACA included a number of financial obligations targeting states, hence the states' lawsuits. So it was not just fluff.

The legalization process takes like 3 years! Can you imagine putting your life on hold for 3 years? It's just not fair

Life IS NOT fair. It's not meant to be fair. Get over it.

America should always be Americans First. Provide freedom and opportunities for Americans. If you want to become an American, go through the process. If not, go somewhere else. Simple as that.

You got a link for these two?

From what I read yesterday DACA only prevents them from deportation and provides them a permit to work. I could have missed the driver's license and SSN stuff.

To become legalized in the US as compared to the rest of your life in an undesirable part of Mexico? I sure as hell would give it some real serious thought.

Sure, but if you put too many ingredients in any pot it overflows and creates a mess.

We should absolutely be welcoming of as many immigrants as is possible. But we also can't pretend that the number of possible immigrants we can support is unlimited.

This is factually incorrect, but keep thinking with your emotions.

I was born here.

Yes, America is a melting pot. A melting pot of "legal" immigrants. If you, or your parents did not enter the USA legally, then you don't belong here.

Sorry, Life is not fair and was never meant to be.

Dreamers aren't getting deported. There is a six month wind down and a 24 month extension.

What Trump accomplished was to symbolically end the unconstitutional program and push congress to get off their illegal immigrant loving asses and formalize legislation for a similar program. Put up or shut up, Mister Paul Ryan.
