think about the shittiest life of a person you know. it's still better than like 99.99999% of North Koreans. even if you're a higher up in the party and you get things like food, you're still in constant fear that a single mistake will get you killed and send your family into the gulag

I think he is in a lose lose situation. If he gives up power or gives in he is dead. If he fights he is dead. I really don't see a peaceful transition happening.

It's all superficial bluster entirely to put on an image and bluff his way into getting his own way. At least I think. Maybe I just don't want to think that someone is that stupidly crazy. It's like that kid at the playground who tells those outrageous lies, and you just nod your head and say "uh-huh" because you know that it isn't worth the energy to argue with him.
