So Trump supporters were duped with a flag that looks similar to the flag of many other countries besides Russia, heck it even looks like a generic patriotic unofficial American flag with the red, white, and blue. What idiots!

I don't really think anyone is doing that. I do think mistaking the Soviet flag as the Russian flag is an understandable mistake given that the entertainment industry has misrepresented it for decades.
