It's almost like boarders exist throughout history because different people preferred different lifestyles and legal/political systems.
Removing all boarders would naturally lead to the violence that established them in the first place. Similar would happen if you filled one country with an even distribution of all contradicting cultures. They would naturally self segregate or have clashes.
He was free to pray wherever he wanted, he might have gotten some curious looks but that's what you'll get in Ohio. It's why I don't live in Syria or Palestine.
You are free do as you please here in the US, everyone is. If that doesn't suit you there is most definitely a place where others live as you want to.
