Right! IN 1848, apparently!

I'm not talking about Wisconsin and Marx as a time line. I'm talking about Wisconsin as a socialist state in the U.S.

The 'Progressive Party' originated in Wisconsin. The U. of Wisconsin Madison is the most left wing school in the country.

Here's an old joke for ya I first heard in the 60s.

Q: U.C. Berkeley played Wisconsin in football. What was the score?

A: Doesn't matter. At the end of the game all of the points are divided up evenly.

Yes - but clearly the seeds of Marxism were planted by Marx and his co-conspirator Nelson Dewey in 1848 when Wisconsin actually adopted the slogan, right? You're not suggesting Dewey travelled back in time from the progressive Wisonsin decades later? I mean they say time travel isn't possible but given the scope of the Communist conspiracy we've just unearthed - Wisconsin, Obama, Nixon, Churchill - I think its safe to say anything is possible.

EDIT - add dictionary to the list of co-conspirators. Evidently, the term "forward" is a fricking English word:
LINK Or at least now it is - I think we all know where it came from. fricking commie land. that's where.

Does this mean Wisconsin Governor Nelson Dewey - who in 1848 adopted the motto "Forward" for the state of Wisconsin - didn't really understand the FUTURE? What's he doing copying slogans from the FUTURE? Ignoramous!!!

Oh crap Zach.

I found another commie. This time, its Petruchio.
quote:

Petruchio: Well, forward, forward! thus the bowl should run,
And not unluckily against the bias.
But, soft! Company is coming here.
[Enter VINCENTIO]
[To VINCENTIO] Good-morrow, gentle mistress; where away?- 2295
Tell me, sweet Kate, and tell me truly too,
Hast thou beheld a fresher gentlewoman?
Such war of white and red within her cheeks!
What stars do spangle heaven with such beauty
As those two eyes become that heavenly face? 2300
Fair lovely maid, once more good day to thee.
Sweet Kate, embrace her for her beauty's sake.

Shakespeare was also ignorant of the future. What a moron.

i find this board to be awesomely amusing. it appears to have almost no rules, and the posts are just flat out delusional.

my wife knows I am addicted to internet message boards in general. At any point in time, I am posting to probably 5+ message boards.

I suspect I will get banned at some point. But I do really love that this place seems to have zero rules. Profanity, personal attacks, and trolls go completely unpoliced. Its awesome, especially to watch conservative contort themselves to support completely ridiculous politicians.

I can only imagine how awesome it was post 2012 election. I bet it was epic.

i have no idea what Iowa costs these days. My college was free (scholarship), so I didn't really even know then. Price of college is no indication of quality tho.
