Syria - War-torn, ISIS
Iraq - War-torn, ISIS
Yemen - War-torn, Houthis
Somalia - Free-for-all
Libya - War-torn, ISIS
Iran and Sudan - State sponsors of terror

You can argue that the Saudis sponsor terror, or at least some of the royal family members do, but there isn't a gushing wound in Saudi Arabia pouring out maniacs unlike Syria or Iraq.

So it's really less about the safety of the US citizens.

They trained in Afghanistan. The point of screening people based on where they are coming from and where they've been is still a pretty good idea.

Liberals are so confused right now.

"It's a MUSLIM ban!!"

-no it's not. It's a ban on war-torn countries that are unstable and are factories for terrorists

"Well why not ban all Muslims then!!?!?!??"

Bin Laden was financing dozens of operatives at that time.

It's believed that mostly Saudis were selected or "volunteered" because they were/are considered an ally and would raise less red flags.

The fact is, they should have been caught before it even happened. There were so many instances where our intelligence agencies just failed to connect the dots. Also, Pakistan is shady AF

Look at a the countries on the list. None of them have a functioning central govt., other than Iran the largest sponsor of terrorism. Therefore, there is no way to contact a govt run intelligence agency/ law enforcement agency and inquire about their history. We have the ability to contact the Saudi Govt and get info on people coming here.

That may or may not be true. What's indisputable is that the Saudis have been instrumental in spreading fundamental Islam around the world for the past 20 years or so. Malaysia, e.g. used to be a pretty secular place. If you go there now, it's all fricking headscarves and bullshite. The Saudis have been directly funding madrassas there which have caused this.

The Saudi financing of madrassas and mosques is no doubt a problem. But the Saudi government itself is relatively cooperative on security matters.

The answer to the Saudi problem is to frack, frack, frack. Keep the price of oil down so they can spend less money on radicalizing people.

Saudi citizens not causing much ruckus for us since 911.

That was 16 years ago and last time I checked there are no Saudi refugees.

The largest state sponsor of terrorism is Saudi Arabia and it isn't even close. The Salafist and Wahabbi theological doctrines that form the ideological basis for ISIS and Al Qaeda were developed and taught in Saudi madrassas. Bin Laden was a Saudi, 19 of the 20 hijackers were Saudi's and the bulk of the financing for Sunni jihadists worldwide comes from Saudi Arabia. The lie that Iran is the world's largest sponsor of terrorism is pointed: if Americans were aware that our ruling class was beholden to the world's largest state sponsor of terror, they would be inclined to view the War on Terror much more cynically.
