BTW notice in the article the links to how the poll was conducted, and comparison of questions by other pollsters. Other polls used specific techniques to get a certain answer, while this poll used a more balanced technique

Gun Control is the one policy point progressives have failed miserably at. Despite their best efforts and a compliant MSM, they constantly find themselves on the wrong side of public opinion.

What I found interesting is how it's the older baby boomer crowd that seems to be against guns.
I like the current trend..it gives me comfort knowing that full tyranny is not in our near future. The more that support the 2nd Amendment, the less likely we get gun control. I hope the trend towards more freedom in other aspects of our culture can take place.

The word 'assault' has no meaning. All rifles are assault rifles. If I stick you in the eye with a butter knife it becomes 'an assault butter knife.'

yeah but "assault" is a scary word - so if 70% still support the idea with use of the misnomer it speaks highly of our youth's ability to think for themselves.

I'm shocked at that percentage but find it very encouraging. Shows my generation just might care about eroding personal freedoms more than progressive wet dreams.

I agree, with the combination of seeing all these type of guns in video games and in gun stores our whole lives, military style rifles aren't as "scary" as they once were. Add that with the fact that more people own Modern Sporting rifles that ever before, people have been exposed to them and know that they're not the rampant killing machines the libs try to portray them as.

I've said many times that the "Call of Duty" generation are, and will be in the future, far more supportive of guns than liberals think.

Those comments were quite off putting to me. As someone who's played these games for years, it was insulting to me to suggest that these games were on of the main causes of this type of violence (school shootings).
