Cassidy(R) Louisiana testifying about a couple in La with no kids has a 39,000$ healthcare premium, and 6,000$ deductible...No kids, and no health issues, said he listed it on his website...Damn! Is this right? Sounds crazy. Ages of couple around 61, he said..Anyone else in La experience premiums like this?

He's a doctor. He probably meant "$3,900."

That doesn't make any sense. It had to have been a clerical error.

$3,250 a month for a 60+ couple isn't out of the ordinary since obamacare took effect. I'm 48 with a wife and two kids under 18. No preexisting conditions, and I pay $20,000 a year with a $12,000 deductible.

Thanks Obama!

We should literally just kill everyone over 80 and call it a day.

I prefer this solution instead!

We're headed for single payer. There is simply no plan that's gonna cover everybody and yet be affordable for everybody.

Sooner or later we're gonna have to face that reality. I'm sorry doctors will only be able to afford 1 deer camp and 1 fishing camp afterwards, but people shouldn't have to chose health coverage or food.

That's what they do in those "civilized" countries with socialized medicine that liberals constantly say we should emulate.

Yep! Another bloated, inefficient government run entitlement program is what we need right about now!

Or stop preventing natural selection from taking place.

When people do stupid shite, instead of paying out the arse to keep them alive. We should celebrate natural selection running it's course.

If you're dumb enough to get hit by a train, you don't deserve to be saved. You don't wear a seat belt and get in an accident? Don't bring them back. Let them suffer and die. Then broadcast their stupidity on the evening news.

No we aren't. We're headed for single payer--then everyone that wants decent care will have to pay AGAIN. Just like they do for private schools.

That is true. But it also includes "single payer".

Do you have any idea what docs actually make? I'm guessing you think pediatricians and PCPs make a ton of money...

Why shouldn't they? People that are paying for the moochers have to choose between their insurance and other vital goods all the time.

Yep. I'm 33, single, non-smoker, no preexisting conditions, no major medical history, in decent shape, all my "numbers" are in the healthy range... I pay just shy of $8k per year in premiums, have a $1,200 deductible, and the coverage is not a single iota better than what I had three years ago when I was paying less than $120 per month with a $900 deductible.

Thanks Obama.

This isn't insurance. It's mandated legal theft.

Pediatricians and PCP's aren't the problem with healthcare cost. It's specialists, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and pharma. And I do know what those people make. My good friend is a radiologist and he even says it's obscene what he makes relative to how hard he works.

so do I. And I know the directions of their earning. Your comments make no sense.

as in he doesn't do back breaking labor? Yeah, that's not what you pay your doc for. If its so easy, why aren't you a radiologist?

I have a client who was close to that. Husband 64 yr old, $1500/mo for him. Wife 62 yr old, $900/mo for her.

BCBS purchased on the individual market, no subsidies because they are self employed and make "too much", around $100k.
