The type of medical people we really need.

If they early on show such callous disregard for the most vulnerable and helpless among us, imagine as full-fledged doctors how they'll view the elderly and the bedside manner and level of empathy they'll posture to those attempting to cling to life.

But it's already been going on for at least the past 10 - 15 years.

This attitude could very well have festered itself within the society during the time of orgiastic euphoria over the ascendancy of Obama when he aimed his remark at the elderly about "taking the pill" to end it all when you're no longer considered useful.

No longer considered useful to our plans for the commie march to hegemony.

When that money could better be spent on the already existing social programs that could fill a Yellow Pages for our rapidly developing "new proletariat."

Exactly. Makes you wonder how they would treat a patient wearing a t-shirt with a pro-life slogan.

Tell that to a disease or medical condition.

That didn't look like anywhere close to 340 people walking out.

ETA: "Incoming" medical students? Man I don't know that I could be that bold as an "incoming" student.

English grammar I suppose wasn't your strong suit.

Got ahead and look up the meaning of the prefixes -a and -anti, and then reread that bullshite.

Think about your hypocritical crap next time your hear the phrase "anti-choice".

Hell, I just wonder how many of those walking out can correctly define "woman", much less diagnose a hangnail.

I have to sit and listen to leftist spout their ignorance at me. Do I hit them with a few extra tests, just to get even? No. I don't withhold advice or treat them any different (aside from I'll effectively high-five a like-minded patient). And I'm not far-right-wing, but I'm solidly conservative.

So if one of these doctors does like we've seen some do over the past few years - intentionally miss veins, etc. - they should not only be stripped of their license, but they should probably face jail time for gross abuse of the public trust and, in many cases, liable for assault and battery.

I'm sure mine is vastly superior to yours, and in multiple languages. Don't take out your daddy issues on me.

I listen to people I disagree with all the time.

It’s not hard.
Sit down and listen.

If everyone agrees with you, it does not make you right or wrong.

Have you even considered the possibility that “anti-theist” is an accurate description of how she used to behave? Maybe she was more Dawkins than the average atheist.

I would submit the +20 people that DVed this statement haven’t thought about the scientific method and good listening skills. Both are necessary to be a good physician and these students starting their Medical careers demonstrated neither!

phunkatron, you kind of 'phunked-up' here.

FYI, not only is antitheism a word, we've had recent discussions on this board demonstrative of antitheism.

I suppose one could take issue with the hyphenation, but IMO that's more a matter of grammatical preference. E.g., anti-atheism would normally be hyphenated for clarity.

Can we get a list of names that walked out? I’d hate to have my life on the line at a hospital and the doc walk out because we do not share the same views on life. I’d prefer to have those that live by their oath be where I seek medical attention or advice. Say what you want but I’m not keen on people that love the “take my ball and go home” approach when the “game” played isn’t going their way.

No it doesn’t

That is categorically not the same thing as atheism.

No kidding! Did you really think you needed to point out that putting “anti” in front of a word changes the meaning?
