It seems so long ago now. We will be hardened vets in 2020 when MWII begins.

for something a bit shorter, and hilariously awesome, try this 12 minute video of Trump's history of trolling instead LINK

Thanks for posting that.

4chan was the epicenter of the 2016 TrumpQuake.

Probably my favorite meme from 2016:

If anyone I know irl knew how much time I spend on 4chan I would probably be ostracized.

Watched all 26 minutes. Thoroughly entertaining. I had seen the Pepe stuff all during the election, and it was exactly what I had thought it was, and its really funny how it morphed into something that made hrc supporters look like idiots.

/pol/ literally has the power to shitpost a candidate into the White House.

Hopefully they can shitpost Kasich into obscurity and Graham/McCain out of office in Trump's second term if not sooner.

I spent more time on the_donald than 4chan. I could never seem to find anything good on 4chan.

I watched the first 5 minutes of that link and have exactly zero idea of what it was about.

I am totally unconnected to pop culture - like an aboriginal bushman in a control room where a cold fusion test is being conducted - nothing I see has any relation to my experience.

I am aware of the little green frog 'meme' but I have no idea at all about what it means. I am aware that somehow it worked to ridicule HRC, and for that I am grateful.

But I'd like to understand some sort of relevance between the meme and the political world I know - absent any reliance on an understanding of pop culture.

Could someone help an old man out here? Just a cliff notes on the cliff notes version of what all this means. I could laugh a lot more heartily if I only knew the overall relevance.

= Consider me the bum on the street holding a "will work for food" sign. I promise I will show up to mow your lawn if you would just spot me enough "food" funds for me to buy a quart of cheap wine.

three or four bullet points would be overly gracious of you.

Thanks in advance

It's not really worth putting much time or study into.

But you know how TigerDroppings has its own inside jokes? And sub-boards like Tiger Rant or SEC Rant have their own inside jokes? The green frog stuff comes from inside jokes on boards you probably don't want to spend much time on. Their inside jokes develop and evolve pretty fast too; even longtime board readers don't know them all.

And one day mainstream media reporters and the Hillary Clinton campaign started trying to link the green frog meme to white nationalist/neonazis, which was the result of them looking at message board inside jokes and not understanding them. This caused more and more people to run with the green frog stuff.

Pepe was a meme that anon would use to show their autistic stories on /b/ and r9k.

Since they have different interests like sports or politics the meme crossed over from /r9k/ to over 4chan boards, notably /pol/.
