Just go to Beijing or Shanghai check out the air over there, and just be glad that the EPA actually did something useful here.

I was making a joke.

What kind of Gov't does China have?

What has been the personal action taken by Gore and Obama in the personal lives to indicate they are serious about "Climate Change"?
If they believe the 97% then why are they still the biggest polluters?

Everytime record high temps are brought up deniers scoff and say you can't go by such a short period, even though it's a half century of them. But when it's a week of cold temps they change their tune.

Why not go back a full century when the 1930s were hotter than mid 2000s? You guys are turning into a snake oil medicine man act.

Wrong. They use your own talking points and your own logic to mock you.

FWIW, the people who use a hot day in January as evidence for GW are just as misguided as the people using this cold front as evidence against GW. We probably won't see the real effects for another 100 years or longer. But, what do we care? We'll be long gone by then.

So we are supposed to give government more control of our lives for something they can't prove and that won't affect us.

We have to pass it before we find out what is in it. Ok!

A killer asteroid hit the earth 1,000 years ago. Another is coming. It might take another 1,000 years but WE SHOULD ACT NOW. Must give govt more control to prevent it by creating an Asteroid Avoidance Tax. Who's in with me!!!

the entire point of the thread--it wasn't to deny AGW, but to mock the alarmists using their own logic.

Yes. The alarmists. Not the actual science on the matter. It's a poor matter of practice by either side to point to singular data points like this. It misses the big picture.

Yeah, this is going to be one of the hottest weeks of the summer in socal. Mid-80's to low 90's in Inglewood for the highs, but the bad part is lows in the mid-70's. I don't have AC so my apartment won't cool off all week.

Right, because if I believe that GW exists then that must mean I want big government control. Thanks for the straw man.

If you want, you could simply take some personal responsibility and make a small difference yourself. But, I guess that sounds too ghey.

If you don't believe in climate change, is there some sort of canary in coal mine event where you'll change your mind that and convince yourself it's real? The north polar ice caps becoming completely ice free? The growing season being extended by another 4 weeks? The complete melting of glaciers at glacier national park? Is there anything?

Of course climate change is real. The climate is not and never has been static.

Is the change caused by man? No. Looking at the data, and circumstantial evidence I can't rationally conclude that man has had any noticable effect on the climate.

What would it take for me to change my mind? For the scientists, politicians and media that are trying to evangelize the rest of us to stop lying. Start reporting all the data, stop manipulating data, stop saying things like "concensus" and the science is settled. Stop making asinine predictions and being even more certain when the predictions are all wrong, without even coming close. Stop mischaracterizing scientific papers as if they support AGW, when they don't.

In short, when scientists start acting like scientists again, and admit what they don't know. When they start questioning again, instead of ostricizing those that do. When politicians start telling the truth and admit their ulterior motives. When the media stops carrying ideological water and reports news objectively.

Probably never.
