That sentence is hilarious. It makes as much sense as if she said.......
"It not about your favorite color being blue but it's about your favorite color being blue".

It's always amusing how people who live in "Middle America" think they represent the average American.
The average American lives in a multicultural city and hasn't been to the corn fields of flyover country.

Could they be any more out of touch or condescending?
I don't think it's possible.
This is the media. They are (and represent) the coastal ruling class. They are supposed to have their finger on the pulse of the nation, but couldn't even see a Trump victory as a possibility until it happened.

Had the media been more in touch with "middle America", they probably wouldn't have been so shocked on election night. That would have made their post-election melt less intense.
It would actually be better for their health, their careers, and their credibility to have at least some insight into "middle America" - especially in the rust belt states that turned red last year.

Only the Democrats. They would prefer to continue reporting without understanding the mindset of Trump voters in places like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc.
I'm sure they will jeer at their communities from their bus window though.

Not sure 'getting more in touch' would have made them less shocked about an 80,000 vote difference in 3 states, while propping up a popular vote loss of approx. 3M.

it actually is pretty strange and mysterious. THey think trump is awesome.
I did a road trip through the midwest this year. I love midwesterners, they are so friendly. I was offered two tours of fargo by complete strangers. One was by a guy, who I later found out is named "white dan" and the other was a lovely art student.
I didn't do either fwiw. But frick, you would never get that in denver.

Thankfully we don't elect the President based on popular vote.

Mere hours before the outcome, you were on here saying WHEN, (not if), but WHEN the polls closed in WI, Mich, and PA, they would immediately be called for hrc.
Not to mention the 3 states you mentioned have been solid blue since the 80s.

For the most part, yes.
The accents in Pittsburgh, northern Michigan, and Minnesota are atrocious though.

BamaAtl, like most proggies, has no sense of humor.
Everything is very, very serious. Because everything revolves around politics and increasing government power.

Middle America is like a museum or zoo exhibit for these people.

I love the minnesota accent, although people don't really talk like that.
Pittsburg is annoying. Although is Pittsburg really the midwest?
