What was the grand total that we spent in Iraq, 1.3 trillion? Something like that? Think of all of the countries we could invade and occupy with that money. 2 trillion in one year. I really hope that is inaccurate, because if not, it is sad.

Afghanistan and Iraq were roughly $1.4 for the ten year period 2001-2011.

So the "war" effort is roughly less than 10% of entitlements...

its sad, what is really depressing is 2/3 of it goes to old people. that isn't going to go away as we go gray as a nation.

Ummm... most of the programs listed are not entitlements. Most of those programs are discretionary spending.

Sorry Zach, but for the good of the nation you're gonna have to go. There's a single mother of five who has never held a job that needs the social security money earned from your labor.

That's right! We have to save this country and all starts with you! Don't go grey, go gay!

I have NO issue with government benefits for our veterans, elderly that have paid into SS and their healthcare.

It's the ones that are too stupid and lazy to get a job that piss me off. They can get off their dead arse and start at some underpaying job, bust their balls and move up the ladder like I did.

just to imagine how much money that is for a second, you could build 2000 Cowboys Stadiums with that money. For someone making 100,000/year, it would take him 20 million years to amass that much money (assuming he never spends it and pays no taxes on it). That's over $6,000 for every citizen of the United States or $280 for every person on Earth.

That's a ton of money.

So you're admitting government doesn't spend $2 trillion efficiently, and yet you want them in charge of our health care????
