sent the following email to a buddy asking about the Auburn game and the QB situation:

Going into the game the consensus on the QB’s was: Hatch is a better runner, and makes better decisions and so is less of a liability, Lee is the better talent, but is raw and may not make the best decisions under pressure. The game obviously exposed both to be true. After the pick-6 by Lee before halftime I had written off not just the game but the whole season (and I was cursing Ryan Perrilloux). There was no evidence that we could throw the ball at all at half time and I think we had less than 100 yards total offense in the first half.

You never want to see what happened to Hatch happen, but for LSU it may just be a blessing in disguise. It forced Lee into more reps, but it also put the ball in his hands w/o worry about someone breathing down his neck ready to come in on the next series (he maybe didn’t have to worry about forcing things as much, or trying to make a statement play to become “the man”.) Whatever the reason, he played like a man possessed in the 2nd half. The first TD he threw before getting absolutely CLOBBERED was beautiful. I haven’t heard or read anything, but I think the obvious is that this is now Lee’s team. The good thing is that we got the win and there are now several things to analyze on film and improve. Better still is that the schedule helps by having lower-tier Miss St on the schedule to make the adjustments, then a bye week to get healthy, make more adjustments, and game-plan for Florida.

CHARLES SCOTT FOR HEISMAN!!! Have you ever seen such straight line power and quickness to the hold? He was good so many times for a direct line north-south 7 to 11 yards. We’ll take that all day long.

Lee is the better passer and needs to play majority of time.
Hatch will be a good change of pace with the running element if he can stay healthy.
Both will play.

Ditto on your thoughts. You seem to have a good grip on things so maybe you can get them to cancel the Troy game so that IF, I say, IF we are undefeated by that time, we will need an off week to rest up for the two last SEC games. That way we will be healthy and prepared for NO slip ups. Thansks.

IMO Lee should start, and we should use Hatch like RP last yr. Hatch is a good runner and Crowton likes running the option, I think the person that deserves the most credit has to be GARY frickING CROWTON, dude is an incredible coach and Miles did a GREAT job with that hire.

I think you meant to say:

After the pick-6 by Lee before halftime I had jumped off the bandwagon and given up the whole season, but after

The first TD he threw before getting absolutely CLOBBERED I picked my lame arse up off the dirt, chased it down and jumped back on that bandwagon.
