I am currently a recipient of SSI, what does it mean to privatize SSI. What effect would it have?

You would be allowed to invest part of the money you pay to the government for SSI taxes yourself. Kind of like funding a IRA for retirement but you have the say to where your money is invested instead of letting the government possibly piss it away.
