Yeah I did it and it was badass. Being in control of that much power is amazing. It cost like $500 but it was worth it.

They actually let you drive the cars? How fast are you allowed to go, or are the cars governed to stop accelerating at a certain speed?

Would be cool if there was a way that someone could simulate being on the space shuttle during launch with all the g's that come with launch and the free float of weightlessness.

You can ride or drive... If you drive you take a 45 minute class before, but there is an instructor that drives in front of you and you have to stay behind him. I got up to about 170 MPH.

Were you nervous or was the adrenaline flowing?

It looks like it would be a blast. We are going to Texas Motor Speedway to do it. 170? What track did you do it on?

It is definately badass, but pricey. I got it as a gift and am glad I did but I don't think i'd do it again unless I had a lot of money. I am a casual NASCAR fan, not a fanatic. I could see some fanatics paying to do it a few times.

I did it at the one by Disney World. It was a short track but I got up to 136 mph on 1 mile track.

I did it at ChicagoLand Speedway last year on a corporate deal. As someone mentioned, you start with a class, then you head out on the track solo but behind an instructor. If you can keep up, they let you open it up a bit. I got up to 165 MPH. Yo really dont realize the speed as the car and track are built for one another.

Another one to check out is the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience. I did the auto-cross and slick track at a racing club outside of Chicago and had a blast. The best/worst part was when you rode shotgun with an instructor who attempts to max out the car performance-wise. He was using paddle shifters only and making right-hand turns at 90 MPH. Almost lost my complimentary breakfast...
