What do you think was the greatest NHL playoff series ever?

In my opinion, the 1994 Canucks-Flames series. Unbelievable. Fleury vs Bure.

edit: This is in my lifetime. I was 9 at the time. Whoever has a series pre-1985, have at it.

Devils v Rangers Eastern Finals in in 94 when the Rangers finally won the Cup. They game from 3-2 down and Messier gaurantee the win. I hate both teams but it was historic and ESPN basically sold its soul to Keenan and the Rangers that Play off season. Also the 86 Finals when Roy as a Rook stood on his head and stole the Cup from the Flames and Lanny Mac.

That 94 playoffs was ridiculous. Rangers-Canucks went to game 7 too. My cable went out in the second period of game 7, though, and I had to listen to the Rangers win on the radio.

The problem with 94 Flames-Canucks series is that the Canucks won it. Though Game 7 was epic. How about the 1989 Flames-Canucks series won by Joel Otto's goal in OT in Game 7?

The Smythe division used to be awesome. Or pick any of the Battles od Alberta in the 1980s between the Flames and Oilers.

You had to love the annual first round matchup of Vancouver and Calgary...and Edmonton basically getting a bye into round 2 playing the Pre-McNall Kings. But for all the intensity that was, I think the Habs-Bruins series were as intense and from the B's standpoint much more ugly, as the Hab's won something like 26 in a row.

The Kings and the Jets used to be in a contest of who could play worse just sothey wouldn't get embarrassed ni the first round by the Oilers.

As much as it pains me, I think the greatest series ever was in 1994 (the best playoffs ever), but it was the Rangers-Devils series. Just a great, great series. And afterwards, I was sure I'd never have a chance to chant "1940!" ever again.

I love the Canucks. I am not a HUGE hockey fan, but I follow it...and that 94' Cup was tough to swallow. I've been fortunate that my pro teams win championships when they get there, but that game was tough to swallow...game 7 that is.

The 94' Canucks jerseys are sick...or were sick. I still have my old Canucks hat from that finals. Then the 'newer' ones were still okay...but now they have the retro-ish look again where the logo just has the hockey sticks. That is one that I HATE!

I just don't understand why they switched their colors so many times. I loved those 90's jerseys. Absolutely amazing.

I have a friend from Vancouver and he said everyone hated them. Makes no sense to me.

I honestly think Rangers-Devils that year was better. The Rangers acted like the cup was already won. I realize Vancouver was a 7-seed that year, but they were playing great at the time. Sure enough, the Rangers won anyway, but still.
