Total including federal, state, social security, local etc...

I think I must have filed my taxes wrong or something. Year to date, the combined taxes have eaten up about 37% of my income and I'm not anywhere near being in the top tax bracket.

Does this sound like an unusually high number for someone with a pretty average income?

Also a marginal amount of my income is tax free per diem so it's probably a couple percentage points higher than 37

Man I really hate taxes

Ca. will take out more taxes. How many exemptions did you put on your W-2?

I forgot. I filed single and I'm only claiming myself. The way I always do it. No one is filing me as a dependent either.

My total tax withholding per paycheck (including SoSec, Medicare, and Fed Inc) is 33%.

Of course, Texas doesn't have any state or local income taxes.

As a point of reference, I file single and I'm near the middle of the second highest withholding bracket.

I just asked you a Ca. gas price question in the OT. I didn't realize I was posting in the OT (I thought the thread was in poli board) the thread is full of the usual hate, immature, buttlicks that have nothing better to do but play badass on the interweb. So answer the question here.

How much is gas in Ca. right now? Im curious.

Yeah all the illegal immigrants around here wouldn't have anything to eat while they're out committing crimes if it weren't for working folks like me

I paid 4.39 today for regular

I'm sure it's at least 20 cents more in downtown L.A.

I think Los Angeles county has some local tax as well. Or maybe that's everywhere in CA.
