Miles has a new contract.
Miles can be bought out for $1.5.
Michigan does not have a coach.
Miles will be coach LSU "next year".

Until Michigan gets a coach, I do not think this is over.

It is very quiet in Michigan
(Reminds me of Saban and Alabama last year.)

It is possible that......
Miles wins MNC.
Gets a big bonus.
Pays buyout.
Goes to Michigan.

IMO - It is not over until Michigan signs a coach.

Agreed. However, if someone forced me to bet my life on it, I'd say Miles stays at LSU at this point.

Everything points to that.

Miles has said he will be here. Unlike Saban, he has given his word AND WILL STICK BY IT. Geez,

Nothing has changed, he wasn't going before and he's not going now.

Saban said definitively, “I will not be the next Alabama coach.”

Has Miles said definitively that he will be the LSU coach next season?
All I have heard is “next year”.

Are we hearing what is being said or what we want to hear?

From what I understand, the Miles family is very happy at LSU. He is now paid very well, is in charge of one of the hottest football programs in the nation in a place that has a favorable climate.

I like our chances, but won't be completely shocked if he leaves. If Michigan doesn't have a new coach by Jan 7, then I would start to worry.

I would go one step further. If Michigan doesn't have a coach by Christmas, imagine the media attention turning back to Miles.

If Michigan doesn't hire a coach soon, this whole thing could be another huge distraction for another huge game, much like the week and days leading up the the SEC Title game.

Admins on UM's Rivals site say "conversations that should have happened earlier are getting started".

When asked if UM is going after Miles, they seem to be tightlipped.

I'll keep you updated, Big Bird.

Yes he has. He has also said he will be hear for years to come.

He also said there is no wiggle room. That he is the LSU coach and will be the LSU coach for a very long time.

WTF else do you want ?

Yes they are. His youngest daughter is at U high in the 7th grade and was a 2 event state champion.

From what I understand, Mary Sue Coleman and Bill Martin seem to be taking a lot of heat for not offering Miles.

Agreed. This is not going away for good until Miles is NOT at the UM podium.

Considering the clowns running the search at Michigan, this could take a while...

After all that Miles has said, I think this puppy is put to bed for good this time at least. Knowing what kind of a man Miles is, and his word is his bond, and you can hang your "hat" on it so to speak, I don't think there is a snow ball's chance in hell that you will see Miles talking with Michigan after all this. It's not in his make up. The guy lives his life on Integrity, and going back on this would make the man miserable for the rest of his life IMO. It would bother him to no end, so I don't see him doing it because I think he knows he could never live with himself or his conscience afterwards.
