Does not mean the same as

is there a point at which your kids+wife >>>> your parents

It's more that they are just ungrateful jerks.

If I can afford it I will buy my parents anything they need as long as it's not hurting my family.

That is messed up! You can buy a laptop for $300 that would be fine for what she needs. I don't see how anyone wouldn't help out their mom with something like that, especially if she was a single mom who raised them and helped them become successful. It has nothing to do with their family taking priority, it's all about them being shitheads.

Maybe, but we'd definitely need more background on the parent/children dynamics before making the blanket statement bashing the brothers like everyone is doing.

you have a bigger problem than just buying a laptop. what's going to happen when mom needs a nursing home? kinda sad that mom can take care of 5 kids, but 5 kids can't take care of their own mother.

If I am in a position where I have to choose between my mother and my wife, one of them is being a dick. I'm going to choose the one who's not being a dick and tell the other to stop being a dick.

Your own family comes first. Period. And I'm faced with this constantly with my father in law. He consistently makes poor choices and always needs someone to pay for stuff for him. But I leave him to his own devices because he always seems to have money to go fishing, hunting, Braves games, and NASCAR races. Bottom line is he has money to play with but wants others to pay for necessities. I refuse to participate.

So be careful to judge these siblings based on this alone. Mom may not be spending her money wisely.
