We would both love to see the Eiffel Tower, especially at night, and various museums in Paris. London seems to have a ton of stuff as well but Paris seems to be winning since it is more "romantic" according to her

Paris and it's not even close

did a quick trip in december and stayed in london. paris is a nice city, but i felt a little more comfortable in london. the subway in both cities will get you wherever you want to go, but london's was nicer. i was actually surprised with how nice the people were in paris, though. either way, the eurostar will take you to the other city for not a bad price at all so you really can't go wrong.

London. Oxford Circus tube area. The Langham Hotel. Go to a comedy Club and some pubs and maybe a gallery. The British War Museum is cool, as are The Wallace Collection if you are fancy and The British Museum if you want to see all the cool stuff The Brits stole from around the globe.

I would love to see the Lourve. But London is the easy answer for 3 days. I haven't been in 20 years but London was way more American friendly than Paris at the time.

Paris is a better city and, of all things, cheaper. The people aren't rude. The only thing London has on Paris is the War Rooms (Invalides is cool in Paris) and people speaking English.

Paris all day long. London is boring.

Looking at booking a 3 day trip to either Paris or London in July. Looking at Tripadvisor both have a lot of things that would interest me.
For those that have been to both (or one or the other) what can you tell me about your experiences?
1. the trip is too short
2. F**K the French!

London is the shite...I did everything I wanted to do in London in three days, including nights out at the bars. But I move fast as shite when I'm exploring a new city

Been to Paris multiple times and never been treated rudely once. Make a basic effort to stumble through French and you'll be treated fine.
The Ile De La Cite area of Paris is far more beautiful and striking than anything in London. There's actually much more to see in Paris than London, really. It would take multiple trips to do it justice.

This, and work the Metro. Popping up in different areas is just amazing. Thing goes everywhere and makes for insane city hopping.

I think you could make a fairly good argument that London isn't really a top 5 city in Europe as far as being a must-see: Paris, Rome, Prague, Barcelona, Florence or Madrid in any order.

I think you could make a very good argument that all of those are great cities, for me though having not spent a lot of time in two of the cities listed have spent much in London and Paris, London and it isn't even close. Just see them all and enjoy it isn't a beauty pageant.
Also don't fall into worrying over people's treatment of you when overseas, be nice respectful and courteous and most of the time it's rewarded.

I spent three days in London in 97. Had the time of my life. Never been to Paris. The British museum is amazing.

You're far more likely to encounter a screaming jackass Brit than almost any other type of a-hole Euro, though.
Parisian frogs, much like New Yorkers in the US, are disliked even by other French. But I never really had a problem there.

We have 4 days in Brussel, 4 Days in Berlin, 3 Days in Milan, and looking at 3 days for either Paris or London. Everything else is booked and paid for already btw
I really don't think you could go wrong with either London or Paris. Last summer we visited London for the 4th time and ended up spending much of the stay outside the city. Visit Oxford if you have a chance.
I am probably not like many of the other posters in that I enjoyed Paris. Like an earlier poster suggested, spend a day in Normandy if you get a chance.
Lastly, your days in Brussel, take a side trip to Bruges. Have a waffle with strawberries and whip cream at one of the small outdoor cafes. Doubt you will ever look at a waffle the same way after eating that one
Regardless of what you decide to do, make sure to enjoy the trip and take in as much as possible
