White team was stacked. All 3 looked great when playing with White and bad with Purple. Can't take too much away from today, other than Gage was abused at CB all day and kicking was really bad.

Unpopular opinion but I agree.

I'd be inclined to say that Harris looked a smidge better with the White, and Jennings did not look nearly as bad with the Purple.

Because you did not see him with them as much because they skipped an entire drive interviewing OBJ.

A smidge better with the white? He was 4 for 10 for 37 yards and a pick while on the purple, and a perfect 7 for 7 with 141 yards and 2 td's on the white.

How is it unpopular, everyone clearly understands the white team had a significant advantage. The stats and score were largely irrelevant, that's why you look at the throws, footwork, movement, etc. It's still a practice, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt, but there weren't any bad blunders like the spring game last year.

K. That was a quick series, maybe a 1st down, but seemed to be a 3 and out.

You misunderstand. I was NOT saying that Harris looked a smidge better with the white compared to how he played with the purple.

I was saying that Harris looked a smidge better with the white compared to how Jennings played with the white.

With the purple, Jennings looked poised and played even keeled. Harris looked a little panicky and played to run.

It's just one game. Hell, the Spring Game means less than any spring practice because both Jennings and Harris were on their asses for more than half of the time.

Fans put way too much emphasis on the Spring Game because it's about all they get to see of the QBs. But for the coaches, the Spring Game represents probably less than 5% of what they get to see of the QBs.

Like who looked better really matters.I believe the job is Jennings to lose. Then he didn't lose it last year so why would anyone think he is going to lose it in the offseason

If he learns to trust his OL, sky is the limit.

He needs to trust his OL and his training.

Harris has loads of talent.

Only in the first quarter, but I'd rather have Harris. Jennings basically looks the same. At least with Harris we have the upside.

Harris still has his flaws, don't get me wrong. He just has the potential to get way better.

I've seen Jennings miss a swing pass and Dural deep twice

don't care if the public knows or not, you can't wait until the last minute to announce your starting QB.

You can if you fear a transfer from the one who doesn't get the nod.

Thats because I find that most of you do nothing but look for the slightest thing to preach starting Harris

And what about you?

I still take Jennings all day every day. I'm sure some will say Harris, but Harris is just the flavor of the recruiting cycle.

DatBayouBengal: Jennings will win Championships here and be a 2 yr starter (leaves early), or a 3 year starter(finish as a senior). Harris (if he comes), will fight with Rettig for the starting spot or we land a 5 star stud within the next 2 years while Rettig and/or Harris transfer.

AJ will get the start. I looked at the schedule and saw us opening with McNeese, at MSU, and Aub at home. I do not think Miles is ready to give the keys to the car to Harris just yet.

On the flip side, Harris looked more comfortable out there and has way more talent than AJ.

Harris on the other hand still does not have the offense down as well as AJ.

I could go on this subject for an hour but it would just be TLDR...

Oh, the biggest takeaway I got today is that whoever starts will be much better than last season. The WR's looked so much better this year.

He means compared to Jennings and I agree.

Jennings looked average with the purple, Harris looked rushed with everything. Jennings looked good with the white, Harris looked better than Jennings with the white.

Pretty much what we already knew. With improvement, Harris's talent beats out Jennings, but Jennings has a higher floor than Harris. I've said this before, but Jennings can get us to where we need to go because we should be great everywhere else. Harris can get us to where we need to go without everybody else being great.

Like I said, I'm fine with either and they will improve more during the rest of the offseason.
