Red Sox vs. O's last night. Credit to OutOfLeftField over on the Over the Monster.
Human elements are awesome! /sarcasm.
Oh, and these are only strikes/balls called by the ump, not swinging/fouls. These were created using the pitchf/x installed at the parks.

Doesn't MLB review this kind of shite with the umps?

So you want just a catcher and a machine or something calling the strike?
That's really gay. It's different yet similar to the sucky loser kids who played against a fast pitch machine instead of against kids pitching.

I'm not quite sure what makes machines homosexuals?
Not all umpires are that bad, but a game called like this should at least get the guy suspended.

A Red Sux fan whining? I am shocked!

Creative.
Also, the Red Sux... er Sox... won the game. Umpires that perform this badly need to be called out.

Totally thought this was going to be Eric Gregg

I'm sure they performance review. But yeah he needs to see the field or something for a while , or get a bullpen or something

Find the one for the Cubs/Padres game. After a clear strike on an 0-2 count & 2 outs, the next goes for a 3 run HR & a 5-4 padre lead

Interesting opinion.

exactly
The umpire should be prepared to call balls and strikes as a backup if the computer goes down. Computers should be the ones doing it in near every other circumstance because the human umps are too inconsistent. They are inconsistent from pitch to pitch, from batter to batter, from pitcher to pitcher, and from situation to situation. An added benefit would be speeding up the game and making it more watchable.
Or is the integrity of the game only crucial when it doesn't mess with MLB tradition?
