New salary cap projections sent out to NBA teams: 2015-16: 67.1 million, tax 81.6, 2016-17: 89 million, tax 108. 2017-18: 108, 127 tax

NBA Salary cap projected to rise by over 22 million between 2015 and 2016. That's a pretty big jump. Not official until audit around July 10

Further projections sent out: 2018-19: 100 million salary cap, 121 tax , 2019-20: 102 salary cap, 124 tax, 2020-2021:107 salary cap, 130 tax

Also for whatever reason the salary cap falls between the 2018 and 2019 offseasons.

EG will likely take his player option, i'd imagine.

Maybe...but I'd be surprised if he did.

why?
he can bank 15MM this year before the cap jumps and then be UFA. Even with the cap jump in 16 he's not getting 15MM.

the only way he wouldn't opt in is if they had smoothed the cap allowing a jump this next year. As it is now he would be a stone retard to opt out

I read somewhere that even with the cap jumps the MLE stays the same amount of money. Gonna get really had to get anything other than a replacement value player with that exception

That's a pretty good assumption.

If the Pels resign Asik this off season to a deal of about 10 mil per and don't sign any other long term deals, they can go into the 16 off season with about 29 mil in cap space (not including cap holds). They'd have a core of Asik, Davis, Pondexter, Evans, and Holiday, who would be making a combined ~60 mil.

asik at 10MM is stealing
hope dell pulls it off but I'm not optimistic

also Evans and holiday expire when the cap jumps by 22MM

They are still on the cap in 16, that's their last season.
