Everyone deserves to live comfortably if they work hard, and working in fast food is working hard.

Someone obviously doesn't go to fast food joints very much.

Besides, I thought liberals wanted to ban fast food anyway.

Why do liberals hate the hard working poor?!?!

I mean, look at all this hard work!
These guys deserve better!

I get your point and all, but just because you have a few pics of fast food employees dicking-off isn't much of an argument. I imagine there is quite a bit of nonsense going on in all professions.

They are workers with no skills. They don't deserve a salary that allows them to live comfortably. Poverty is a good motivator to do better for yourself, or at least it used to be. The truth is that these people will get paid the minimum no matter what job they do. There's a reason they're working at McD's at 45.

And to answer you comment about dicking off at work.

The fact that these morons filmed and/or took pics of their exploits and published them on social media shows the exact intelligence level we're dealing with here. They're right where they deserve to be and the pay grade is appropriate.

Yet you offer no counter point to support the rate.

If wages go up this much then say bye bye fast food workers.

They will find a way to automate the whole place with only needing one or two employees

It's funny how the workers with the worst attitudes and work ethic in the country are always the ones demanding the government to hand them more money. Doesn't occur to any of them that maybe, just possibly... And I'm going out on a limb here.....
There might be a direct relationship between how well you do your job and the amount of money a company will pay you to do that job.

Either that or will be much more selective on who they hire. That means 90% of them will no longer have a fast food job.

Trust me, this is already in development. I'm sure every time one of these dumbass strikes happens McDonald's throws another couple hundred thousand into the McNugget Maker 3000 project

Not only will they be more selective, but they will have higher skilled and educated workers applying. So the current workers will be marginalized twice over.

Nah this is the OT. Fast food workers and teachers are lazy and overpaid. Everyone else works diligently and earns every dollar they make. No one here would dare do something like surf Tigerdroppings at work.

Pay hourly wage earners $15/hr and watch all goods increase to offset the higher salaries; making the increase a net 0 effect.

..and in 5 years, they will scream for $20/hr.

the problem with this newfangled liberal Keynesian economy is people making too much money. It's absurd.

You really can't see the difference between wasting some time on the internet at an office job and doing disgusting things to food that people are paying you to eat and treating your customers like shite to their face?

I chose a career that I knew would for the most part pay me enough to live above the poverty line.

13 years later with a flawless work record, 100s of hours of continuing education and training, and now a fry cook that can barely read or write and on parole wants to be paid almost as much as me

We already have robots that can build complex machinery. I guarantee the technology is there to allow the process of flipping burgers and dunking french fries to be completely automated. Hell, Pee Wee Herman built an automated breakfast machine in the '80's!!

To this point it probably hasn't been cost effective to retro fit all the restaurants with that equipment vs paying low skilled workers min wage to do the job. But raise the operating cost by artificially increasing wages and you'll see fast food companies react accordingly

I say what are they waiting for? Going nearly fully automated would almost immediately increase productivity, efficiency, and food quality while likely allowing prices to remain low. It's a win for everyone but the idiots who would have "bargained" themselves out of a job

Don't these morons realize, that if the pay goes up that much, they won't have a job??? People who have more skills are going to take them for the pay.

Then what????
