some idiot brings a rescue pit to our neighborhood no-leash dog park. my dog is very energetic but gets along with all the dogs and owners there....they love him. yesterday some Mensa member decides to bring her newly acquired rescue pit there and mayhem ensues. came after my dog while he was playing with another dog....i guess the pitbull equivalent of a sucker punch. my dog pulled the Ali okey doke, stood him up on his hind legs and threw a right cross. knocked him on his arse and the owner grabbed him and left. a couple came up to us and said that dog did the same thing to their husky a few days ago.

those dogs should be exterminated

:csb:

side question....if the pit had been able to get a hold of my dog would i have been justified in going to my truck and putting a couple of rounds in it to save my dogs life?

Addressing your shooting question, in my opinion , yes, but legally, probably not.

Or they just shouldn't be allowed off their leash when on public property.

is different than a pit raised from 6 weeks in a loving home with other dogs.

Just saying. I am not buying a pit, but I have a couple friends with pits and pit mixes that are awesome and have no aggressive tendencies at all.

A pitbull attacked our dog when I was in high school and my dad shot it in the face. No one gave a frick because they are shitty, terrible dogs. Some guy had it in our neighborhood and would let it out unattended and it had even attacked a jogger once. Good riddance.

Bad owners.

Its the same thing with people. Our youth aren't entirely at fault, its the shitty fricking parents in this country. I agree though, shitty dog owners tend to gravitate towards pits. Its gross.

Shitty owners create shitty dogs, especially with an alpha like a pit. If this was a rescue organization, they should have known better.

Why? So they could come to the dog park and shoot everyone else's pet?

until they do run across something that causes them to snap, and when they do, anything under 50 lbs is taking an arse whooping or dying.

Family pit bull attacks 5-year-old, grandmother in Griffin. Neighbors said the pit bull weighed approximately 70 pounds. They had never heard of any problems with the pets.

“I don’t want people to think bad of pit bulls. They were playful dogs. One slept with the girls and the other slept with me and my husband. It was just a freak accident.

They said family members told them the dog was a family pet and had always been a pleasant animal. They’re still trying to determine why the dog attacked the boy.

You're correct. Pit bulls are awesome and have no aggressive tendencies at all.... Right up until the moment they do.

I'd have done the same thing. Pit bull or whatever, if a large, aggressive dog is attacking mine, I'd step in and do whatever to subdue the aggressor.
