This is just taking record which is kind of unfair. The records in the east are inflated or the records in the west are deflated (one or the other). 52 games in your conference will do that.

I was really just picking 2 teams who were below 55 wins, where the team in the East had more wins than the team in the West. I'm not saying Dallas is better than Cleveland, but the better team doesn't always have the better record over 82 games

Top 4 Playoff teams in the East are 18-14 against Top 4 Playoff teams in the West this year. What does that mean? Probably not much.
Playoff basketball is a different animal in my opinion so a lot of head to head regular season records don't mean anything.
