I hope Peacock proves me wrong but I don't see what made him even close to a lock for the rotation.

Same. Hopefully he proves is wrong. I've come to the point where I just assume any game he starts is going to be a loss.

He has pretty dominant stuff in his good innings. Problem is, he is inconsistent as hell. His bad innings are BAD innings.
I'm expecting a 5IP, 4ER type of night.
He's my pick for break-out player of the year. But I think they are bringing him along too quickly from his surgery.

Peacock walks too many batters. His first start in Fresno he only threw 40/87 pitches for strikes

Carter won't be able to turn it around until he starts seeing some pitches. That isn't going to happen until a) Gattis starts hitting, or never) he learns the difference between balls and strikes and which one to swing at.
If Springer gets hot, look for a move to bring Singleton up.

Last night it seemed like he swung at any pitch that went in the general direction of home plate.

Springer is just missing a ton of pitches. I've seen him swing through or foul off a bunch of stuff he was hammering last year.

Anyone know Singleton's stats as of now in AAA and what do you think it would take to get him called up?

No doubt. I think I even saw him have to check swing once when the pitcher threw over to first base.

He's at .389 right now.

I believe Singleton hit his first homer yesterday as well

Gattis's AB's have been embarrassing to anyone who calls himself a baseball player.

Here's the deal with this lineup.
We just so happen to have a bunch of hitters that are all about the same skill level. And they're all going through the transition phase at the same time. I include carter in that mix because he's a late bloomer.
When the light bulb does come on for this lineup, look the frick out.
ETA: maybe skill level isn't the right term. They're just all in about the same place in their development
