I've never cared for him. I miss Footer being the beat writer.

Corpus lost their first game of the year, but Correa homered

Drellich is far and away the best.

Ortiz just tries to stir the pot as much as possible and gets pissed when the front office closes the door on him.

I kind of like this... sandwiching Lowrie and Valbuena around Gattis might get him a few more fastballs. I'm not convinced he can actually hit a fastball, but you know, he might get lucky.

Only thing I don't like is having the $8mil hair cut batting 7th. At least Gattis is a cheap out. I'm thinking I'd prefer Carter in Left, Singleton at First. Rasmus selling programs at the main gate of MMP.

Singleton did worse last year over a longer stretch...Gattis is terrible right now but he has proved he can be better with time. Singleton hasn't yet.

I still don't get where the Rasmus hate comes from, he's hitting 280 while Carter and Gattis are like 2-67 combined. Thinking for Carter playing LF just made me weep, dude barely has the range to play 1B

The sluggers will hit eventually. Even though the top power guys haven't hit yet, I really like the versatility for the lineup.

But those guys (Springer, Carter and Gattis) may really need to start hitting soon while the wait for Obie and Appel continues. We could be looking at a rotation with two excellent starters and three bums for awhile.

Rasmus' career OPS is like 11 points lower than Carter's. Slugging percentage is 14 points lower. And Rasmus happens to play a very solid outfield. Statistically they aren't too far apart hitting wise, which is very sad for Carter.

Admittedly I employ no science in my evaluation of rasmus. But statistically he is currently playing well above his career where carter is playing below.

I'm a realistic optimist... I believe the players will typically perform as expected, with a few surprises to either make me wrong outright or just piss me off altogether.
