I posted something similar to this a year ago, and was able to secure a camp for our needs. It's still available, and may use it again if nothing more attractive shows up.

We're looking to rent a camp often in/near Cocodrie. Dulac would work, as well.

We try to fish about every other weekend or so. Maybe even more, as one of our foursome just retired.

We'd could negotiate a weekend rate, or even better a rate for a few months. Rent to own may be an option also.

If you're interested or know someone not using their camp much, please pass on our request.

I've seen some for rent in Cocodrie. Just take a ride down 56.

The good thing about Dulac is that there are few (if not, no) commercial places to rent.

You're better off finding something in Cocodrie. If you get nowhere, I'd contact a real estate agent. A seller might be willing to rent out his camp while he is waiting on a buyer.

Motorboat nailed it. If you can't find anything call an agent or take a ride keeping an eye out for sale signs. Lots of folks sell because they can't afford or don't see the value in a camp that they visit a hand full of times a year. I'm pretty sure some wouldn't mind the break from paying the note.

I've been wanting to buy an older sport boat or or cabin cruiser to use as a camp and occasionally tow my little skiff out to the barrier islands.

It's not a bad idea. I haven't looked into what it would cost to keep it in a marina or what to do about the shitter. Other than that I've seen a few that have had their radar and other electronics removed that were very affordable.

Brother and I have flirted with the idea of cooking up an aluminum version of an old 25 Bertram MKII for the islands

But with a control tower
