Spinoff - What If The South Had Won?

The basis for the economy, slavery, wouldn't have lasted, relatively little industry/manufacturing and a social class of the very rich and very poor.
Possibly the South could be just another third world country if they had won.

Then I wouldn't be wasting my Sunday after noon picking all my own cotton, that's for damned sure.

Mexico would have invaded the CSA shortly after and we'd all be speaking Spanish. Also, Germany would have won WW2.

Hank Jr. would have put Hank Sr.'s picture on $100 bills

It'd be poor but Cortana would still be a nice mall

Like you said, slavery would have ended soon anyways. We would probably be a replica of how Canada is except warmer climate and to the south. Just a rural landscape. I have no clue

It sucks. It assumes that slavery would still exist today.

little industry
The south would have controlled the Mississippi River. Do you know how important that would have been. Fast forward 60 years and most if not all of the oil/natural gas would come from the south to heat the north.

Not much point in being a separate country if there's no slaves anyway.

I see what you are saying and slavery obviously had a big factor in the war. I do know most confederate soldiers did not own slaves. I remember reading a diary written by a southern soldier and he spoke about most of the small time farmers frowned upon slave plantations, basically it was their competition. Always thought that was interesting.

The south would be fine and more tgsb likely a power. Oil and a lit of it. Most ppl don't realize how bug TX oil was back in the day.
Honestly there probably would have been another war.
Still drunk and head hurts, going back to bed.

Reconciliation and restoration would have eventually occurred, the question is how long would it have taken.
I say by the 1920's we would have been one country again.
