I was just in my yard weed eating and I heard the low thump of a military helicopter coming from the west. I assumed it was going to be a Blackhawk or Apache. I live in NW La and it's unusual for either of those to fly over so I stopped to enjoy the view. Once it came out of the sun, I saw it was an Osprey. I've never seen one, especially flying over my house.
I grabbed my phone and managed a shitty video.
This is a screen cap:

It was headed southwest so that heading would kind of make sense. Felt like I was seeing a UFO.

If youve ever been to the panhandle of Florida they come over the beach all the time out of Hurlburt field. Those are spec ops birds though. Used to love watching the neon green circles come down the beach when we were out drinking at night.

I don't think that's correct.

Not true. But they do fly out of Hurlburt, among other places.

Yeah, it was in level flight and had it's props foreward and still sounded like a Blackhawk or Apache.

It replaced the CH-46A (below) as a transport and is slightly faster but a major disappointment overall.

No, but they are airplanes so they can sometimes fly from one place to another, you know, cause that's what airplanes do.
