Assuming I'd be interested in a 6c. Just got a 5s in Dec. after switching tk AT&T. I'm wishing now that I had gone with a larger screen.

The iPhone 6 and 6 plus are both pretty nicely sized screens, but I have the note 4 and I love it. Samsung' phones are a lot faster and the picture quality is amazing

Your upgrade option is that you can pay full price for a phone if you wish to upgrade AFAIK.

Options include switching to another provider that will pay your ETFs (which will require you to give them your current phone) or just buying a phone out right and staying with your current provider.

S6 edge looks pretty cool and the normal S6. I phones are iphones my wife has had them and they always just look the same with the ui and phone design That is probably why I don't have one I find them boring. Anyhow Id wait till the fall to get a new phone they always improve the first half with the second half of the years devices. I'll probably just get the Note 5 since Samsung starts with the S series and improves it with the note series it seems

I went by Verizon to check out phones and it is amazing how difficult it is to actually tell differences without extended use.
I think the edge looks cool but serves no function. S6 is very slim and snappy. Doesn't feel as hefty in the hand.
Nexus is really nice feeling. Bit wider than S6.
Droid Turbo is a great size. I like the 5.2 inch screen. Ballistic back is different and it is noticeably thicker than others. Battery life a big plus on this one. Set to be upgraded directly to lollipop 5.1 from kitkat 4.4.
M9 has a great build quality to it.

I'm using the 6 plus now and although it isn't overly flashy, it's easily the best phone I've ever owned. Awesome all day battery life even with heavy use and top of the line camera.
I'm sure the 6S plus will have a better camera and slightly faster processor but that's in the Fall
