Haven't seen Whiplash. Watched Imitation this weekend and it was very good. Great if you're a WWII buff.

Saw Exodus in theatres and really didn't care for it. Thought the actor playing Ramsay kinda sucked, and they made lots of creative changes to the biblical story. That may not bother some, but I found it hard to watch it deviate so much from the story I had always known. The storytelling overall was just kinda meh..it felt like it dragged in a lot of parts. It would spend too much time on random scenes, and then felt like it flew through the plagues. And the end felt like they just shot it in a day and said "F*ck it"

I may give it a rent. I thought Imitation Game was phenomenal, and don't see how it didn't win more awards.

watched this the other day on one of the movie channels (HBO, Cinemax, or Starz. I forget which)

the acting is ok even w/some odd casting choices, the cinematography was decent, it was interesting to make the miracles somewhat plausible and open for interpretation (aside form first born deaths) but overall...

a big bowl of meh

Yeah, some of the explanations for the miracles were interesting but overall I didn't care for it. It never felt epic. I never got used to Bale as Moses. Ok fine, you want to do a young warrior Moses. At least cast someone who looks the part. The parting of the sea was a letdown.

It was like the fourth best movie based on the Exodus. Ten Commandments and Prince of Egypt were both much better.
