You know, all these years, I've never seen his characters name written out ( or just never paid attention before).

I always thought it was "Roscoe Peco Train" which I always thought was pretty stupid, only to find out that I am.

Roscoe goes to that perpetual brunt of another get-away in the sky. RIP

I thought this too.

Got his autograph at a World of Wheels show when I was six or seven.

He was great as Roscoe...

However, as Dewey Barksdale in Ode to Billy Joe...

You know something, boss, those Duke boys were lying. They were lying just like a tombstone. That man was no more Luke Duke's brother than I am second cousin to a jackass.

RIP Roscoe. Join your "Little Buddy" up there with the angels.

"Enos, you dipstick! You done scuffed my vehicle and let those Duke Boys get away."

"I love it, I love it, I love it. Gew, gew, gew."

Has anybody else seen the pilot or some of the early episodes where Roscoe was a mean villain of a sheriff? Not likeable at all. Making him the loveable clown of a lawman was a definite improvement to the show. It played much better as a lighthearted fun show than something serious.

He was the reason that Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge.

You aren't the only one, buddy.

I used to think this when I was a kid. My older brother clarified the pronunciation for me and I thought he was lying.

He then made fun of me until I relented and agreed to believe him.

The days before the internet were tough.

He was also very good in an otherwise fairly forgettable Hooper starring Burt Reynolds. RIP sir, you had a great run.

RIP Rosco P. Coltrane. I'll never forget watching the Dukes of Hazzard on Friday nights.

That's how I always thought of it as a kid.
