Assuming 13 games he would need to average 269 yards a game.... Last year NCAA had 15 players achieve this stat... 2 of those QB's played in the BCS Playoff with a 3rd missing out by 13 yards.... of course they played in more than 13 games as well, at least the 3rd did.

Russell had 3,129 yards
Mettenberg had 3,082 yards
Flynn had 2,407 yards

so LSU had had a couple players reach 3,000 yards. Could they push those extra 500 yards?

No and I hope not. LSU is and always will be a power running football team.

If Rohan2Reed couldn't do that I doubt it will ever happen. LSU is too good in the run game.

ETA: only way is a very capable passer and a 15-game schedule.

If LSU is an SEC champion which makes it all the way to the CFP final, they likely need a very good, productive QB. In that scenario, the Tigers play 15 total games. The quarterback would have to average 233.34 yards per game to reach 3,500.

Mett averaged 257 the year he went over 3,000 (in 12 games). He also had two guys who appear to be #1 receivers in the NFL to make that happen.

With Miles' emphasis on the conventional two-back running game, LSU would almost certainly have to play for the national title for 3,500 to be reached.

I think this is possible although unlikely even with a consensus AA at QB.

I'd be happy with 2,700 at this point.

Balance 2700-3000 yards passing and 2000 yards rushing. I think that may do the trick. Our team is most physically imposing whenever the box doesn't have 10 freaking people in it. Gotta open it up by making the defense at least be cautious about the pass

More important to have a good completion %, 3rd down completion %, and low amount of turnovers.

Jmarc could have but that's not how we roll. In some of the blow outs in 13, jennings came in the 3rd quarter. One gane we attempted like 3 passes in the second half.

I think those 2 could have been real close if we blew teams out like Oregon does.

shite in 11 we mercied ole miss with 5 minutes left. Just not les' style.

We don't need that though. In 11 the qbs accounted for 2,383 total yards and 24tds

i would say no.

even if we had a very good passer.

we are too run heavy of a system, and i don't think we should or will ever get away from having a very solid running game.

our rate of play is different.

and we play in a very competitive conference.

If that ever happens I promise that will be one of the best offense anyone has ever seen in college football!

Is this a rhetorical question?
