The price blinded me (my story and I'm sticking to it) I have 460 rounds, how bad would it be for me to use them? Everyone I know advises against using them, the are Tula non-corrosive.

For your time

Thanks for the replies, I figured that many in the life of the gun wouldn't foul up the ejection. Mostly I will miss the brass if it doesn't foul the shooting.

The difference would only be notable in very high rate/low cleaning situations, IMO.

The main issue isn't the steel cases themselves but the bimetal (copper/steel) jackets on the bullets. They will wear down the rifling in the barrel quicker than regular pure copper jackets.

That being said, if you only shoot 460 rounds of it, that shouldn't be an issue. And if you do the math, it may cost you less to buy a new barrel later than the price of brass 223/5.56 (unless you don't reload). Do the math and see which one comes out on top.

But be sure to shoot that ammo first!

I use steel Wolf for recreational shooting and I've never had the first problem.

10 yrs ago I bought a tin of Wolf steel cased ammo and after shooting a lot of rounds they left red remnants of something all over the BCG and near the action. They were difficult to clean off. Recently I shot some newer purchased Wolf steel and didn't have any remnants.

Perhaps the ammo I got yrs ago was very old ?
