I don't normally purchase DVDs but I had to get this one. Also includes 3 hours of bonus features and a collectible which is a 3 inch section of actual 70MM film print.

I'm a dvd collector and I love Nolans films. That said, I might skip this one or I'll wait until it's $3 on Black Friday. I just didn't find it to be all that good.

First 1/3 was average
Middle 1/3 was good
Last 1/3 was average

I thought it was great. It did a great job of mixing very heavy science with philosophy. Reminded me a lot of Contact - one of my favorites - but obviously won't be everyone's cup of tea.

It wasn't Nolan's best, that's for sure. But it's definitely worth owning on blu-ray IMO.

Watched it again last night. Really enjoyed it more on the second watch. Does anyone know what Mann's plans were? SPOILERS BELOW..

Why didnt he just tell the crew there wasnt shite on his frozen planet and they all go back to the ship? Did he intend on just leaving everyone behind on his planet then go to Edmunds planet to recolonize? I understand he would have been called a coward for sending a signal for nothing being there.

Yeah there was no way of leaving his planet and he was afraid to die. So he sent the signal in hopes to be recused. All the time probably plotting to kill who ever it was to avoid being a coward.

Just wondered if he planned on trying to go back to earth and lie about everything, or go to edmunds planet. May of been on those things were you just draw your own conclusion.

Gotcha. From what I remeber he wanted to be the hero so i think he was gonna head to edmunds planet.

But I could be wrong. Getting it shipped to house today and will watch for 3rd time. I'll make sure to pay attention.

Cuz at that time here was not enough juice to get back to earth i believe.
