When do specs start typically showing up in the surf at Elmer's?

The bigger trout will start showing up in the next few weeks. I usually start fishing in GI in late April/early May and do okay.

Rule of thumb on Texas coast is when water temp hits 70 degrees

it doesn’t get consistent till may, but you can catch some bigger fish before that.
